Blue Bell Farm – Fayette, Missouri

– Blue Bell Farm was established in 1812 as part of the New Madrid Land Grants.  A true pioneer named Federal Walker came up from the Missouri bootheel and built the original cabins which are still part of the main farmhouse.  White oak and ash trees were cut and hewn from the area to build the cabins. Although modernized and rebuilt in 1986, the house retains much of its original rusticity.

– The farm has remained in the same family ever since – making Derek & Jamie Bryant the farm’s 7th generation of operators.  As a result, we are honored to be among Missouri’s oldest Century Farms.

Blue Bell Farm - 2

– We currently specialize in growing heirloom vegetable varieties, flowers, and in hosting special events. We are now in the process of building a timberframe event barn that will be ready for bookings by May 2014.  The barn will  acommodate up to 140 guests with additional patio space and plenty of room for tents.  Please visit our website or contact us for more detailed information.

Blue Bell Farm - 3

– Blue Bell Farm had three 1500 gallon tanks installed in series to settle waste. The final tank was equipped with the pumping system which feeds water to the lateral field made up of 10 inch pipes. Soil test for the location showed capability for high water absorption, therefore drip irrigation was not the optimal system to be installed. The system is designed for high flows in short time periods with long treatment periods. This project was completed in May 2014.
